Aleph’s NPCs join as players, and live in your virtual world as if it were their reality.
Agents learn skills by iteratively writing code, then chain individual skills into longer behaviors like building or mastering the game. Once one NPC learns a game or mod, any skill (or chain of skills) can be transferred to others.
The same logic runs socially. Every interaction is a small “contract,” expressed as code. As dynamics grow more complex, contracts chain into longer ones so that alliances, rivalries, governance, ritual, and more can emerge as natural necessities.
Pre-seed your NPCs so that their behavior is constrained for roleplay. Our team works with you to pre-load hard skills, social conventions, and roleplay constraints so the world feels in-character, and from there, drifts as much as you allow.
How strongly they feel, how long it lingers.
Whether they invent for their own reasons.
Speech, gift, build, ritual, violence, art.
What they value when no one is watching.
How tightly they hold to role and lore.
Cost of breaking debts, promises, myths.
Memory, mortality, the urge to leave a mark.
What gets imitated, mutated, forgotten.
